This large dwelling on George Hill Rd caught fire in the middle of the afternoon. On arrival heavy fire was showing from the side and smoke throughout the home. Chief of Dept.Michael Hanson struck the worker and shortly after a 2nd alarm. Firefighters stretched a big line in and still met heavy fire conditions on 1st and 2nd floor. A 3rd was struck bringing in mutual aid to the fire from Leominster, Shirley, Devens, Sterling, West Boylston, Clinton Harvard and Hudson. Although some severe damage to the home, firefighters did a great job saving a lot of the structure.
