The call for this fire came from a passerby that saw smoke coming from the windows. Police arrived on scene first and told dispatch it was a fire. Bolton Firefighters arrived to find fire and smoke showing from the rear of the dwelling and on the second and third floors and attic. The house is a large 2 1/2 story home that is owned by the Shultz Farm. This area of town has no hydrants and the Chief quickly struck 3 alarms and asked for tankers which had to bring water from about a half mile up the road. No one was home at the time of the fire. 1 Dog managed to get out and 1 died in the home.

Mutual aid to the fire came from Lancaster, Clinton, Boxboro, Harvard and Stow. The cause of the fire is under investigation
