At approximately 1750 hrs we heard the dispatch for a fire at 75 Falulah St. While on my way which is about 2 miles from my house, I heard Tower Ladder 3 report smoke showing from a distance and he was right for I could see it just leaving my home. On arrival heavy smoke was pouring from the front of this 2 story home with heavy fire out the back. The fire was just starting to burn the other home behind it.
The 2nd alarm was quickly struck bring and Engine and Ladder from Leominster directly to the fire. The fire had a good head start which the brothers made a great attempt on an interior attack but had to withdraw. The roof then collapsed into the top floor and the fire began to take over.
It took firefighters about 90 minutes to bring this stubborn blaze under control. Six people were left homeless and it is unknown what started the blaze.
