On the 1-year anniversary of the fire at the Ebbets Field Apartment building that took the life of Lt.John Martinson of Engine Co.249, a plaque in with Marinsons honor was unvailed at the firehouse. Family, friends and City Officals were on hand for the dedication. Members from Div 15 and more showed up for the ceremony. Johns wife and 2 children, parents and siblings were all given the medal of valor in Johns memory. Many spoke of the great man Lt.Martinson was nickenamed "Johnny Nice guy" but they greatest speech of all was the one when his wife got up and addressed the crowd. Many in the firehouse were moved by her words. Some even had tears. Peace be with you John.
