On Tuesday January 27th around 11:30 am a calm 911 call came in reporting a fire at 35 Fairmount Pl. Engines 3, 4, Ladder 1 Rescue 1 was dispatched. Engine 3 which is right around the block arrived with heavy smoke showing from a 3 story apartment building. When Deputy Chief Ralph Jackart ( C-3 )arrived he called the working fire. Engine 2 along with Fitchburg Engine 1 and Tower Ladder 3 responded. Heavy smoke and fire were venting from the 2nd floor as companies made an aggressive interior attack. The fire was knocked down and overhaul operations began. Some minor injuries occurred. The fire remains under investigation.
