Sterling Firefighters were called to the airport for a glider that crashed short of the runway. On arrival they found the aircraft in the thick brush but the pilot appeared to be uninjured. Firefighters used Ladder 1 to extended the aerial out where they could lower a harness down to the pilot. Once he was able to secure himself, firefighters were able to manually pull the ropes to lift him out of the cab and then lower him to the ground. The pilot walked up the hill to awaiting EMS where he was evaluated.
